This article on theconversation.com also goes into more depth about the use of the diet in epilepsy and also the potential as a complimentary therapy for malignant glioma brain cancer. Human trials are underway for adults with particular brain cancers. These studies are showing the diet is safe and feasible, and some are showing clinical benefits. This is an emerging and exciting new area for the use of the Ketogenic Diet. So why does a diet affect things like seizures and tumours?

The big message with the resurgence in interest of this diet is that the classical ketogenic diet is a medical or test diet that should only be used under medical supervision.
